Description
VIBRINĀ® is an inactivated, concentrated suspension of Campylobacter fetus bacteria in a patented repository base.
Approved Uses
Vaccination of healthy cows and heifers as an aid in preventing campylobacteriosis (vibriosis) caused by Campylobacter fetus
Key Features
- Helps protect against campylobacteriosis (vibriosis), a venereal disease of cattle that causes temporary infertility, delayed conception, irregular estrus, and occasional abortions.
- Because of its patented adjuvant that enhances and prolongs the immune response, VIBRIN may be administered as early as 7 months prior to breeding, making it ideal for use at fall pregnancy check.
- Field use and extensive, controlled tests in breeding cattle under experimental conditions demonstrated that the Campylobacter fetus agent used in VIBRIN is effective in prevention of campylobacteriosis (vibriosis). Pregnancy rates in vaccinated heifers were as much as 44% higher than in nonvaccinated control heifers.
- Research conducted on VIBRIN indicates that a single dose is effective and there is no advantage in using 2 injections. Use of a one-dose vaccine can result in considerable savings in labor versus a two-dose product.
